Providing a personalised service
Welcome to Dumfries Tours in South West Scotland
Using our local knowledge, we provide a tailor-made, friendly, and exclusive guided touring service in South West Scotland. Based in the historic Royal Burgh of Dumfries, we follow in the footsteps of Robert Burns, Robert the Bruce, and John Paul Jones. We get to explore iconic castles and abbeys. We also have tours associated with the most powerful families and clans of this region, such as Maxwell, Johnstone, Jardine, Douglas and Armstrong. On our guided-tours, we visit some of Scotland's most southerly gin and whisky distilleries. We also stop at the best establishments for locally sourced food and refreshments on route. If you want to explore your family history then we will do the research and plan a route to show how your Scottish ancestors lived.

With your local knowledge we visited the 7 properties. It was further enriched by the researcher Davie Hunter who found many of my lost ancestors who lived in the 1180 - 1860 era, all around the local churchyards. It was a very interesting, enjoyable and immensely satisfying tour over the two days. - Cathy & Dave Dixon, Bunbury, Western Australia
